Cable & Wireless Exhibit at Porthcurno
Porthcurno is a significant part of England’s cultural heritage as it was from here that the first undersea cable that was laid in 1870. It then grew to house the world’s largest and busiest submarine telegraph station. For this reason Porthcurno is regarded as the most strategically important communications site in mainland Britain. Today the museum houses a range of exhibits charting its history.
Working alongside a team of Graduate Engineers from Cable & Wireless we helped build their ideas into reality by designing a range of interpretation and interactive displays for their new exhibit. With a fixed budget and a tight deadline our brief was to gain maximum impact using a range of mediums that capture the imagination of visitors young and old. From lasers to built in display cabinets we worked hard to incorporate as much as possible into the space available. This project saw us undertake design - including providing text, bespoke carpentry and some pretty impressive electrical work behind our interactive displays. The Cable & Wireless exhibit allowed us to display our creativity and expertise and pull all the stops out with some really amazing interactive displays.
Our thanks go to the Graduate Engineers at Cable & Wireless for providing us with a fun and challenging brief!
“We initially approached Parc Signs as they offered all of the exhibition design and build services we needed. We knew that we had made the right choice at the site survey, when it was clear that they wanted to go the extra mile by making suggestions that ultimately enhanced the exhibition. Their impressive range of skills has ensured that our exhibition is accessible, interactive, and visually appealing. Any issues were overcome with ease by working in partnership, which resulted in improvements. We are very pleased with the result of this project, and they managed to deliver a high quality product within our tight deadlines. We highly recommend ParcSigns and look forward to doing business with them in the future.” Cable & Wireless Worldwide
