Engraved desk – shots from the workshop

Engraving, a traditional part of a signmaker’s armoury.  Sometimes it can be key tags, badges or text on fingerpointers. Sometimes it can be part of something more beautiful like this desk unit for Scribble & Nonsense.  Sapele shell with engraved detail on the surrounds and drawers that have then been infilled with paint.  All of these skills are used in our day to day sign work but it’s always good to make something different from time to time and this one is particularly lovely.  Good work from the workshop team and a thank you from Scribble & Nonsense for giving us another varied project to work on. Check out the real thing now at Royal Cornwall Museum (RCM) Truro.
